President:
The president provides overall leadership for the honor society.
She supervises the other officers in their duties and event
planning. She plans and chairs membership meetings and officer
meetings, including writing agendas and arranging for outside
speakers. She also is the Prytanean liason with the University
and applies for ASUCD funding. She must be organized, responsible,
creative, and professional, and must uphold the high ideals
of the society. For more information, contact prytpresident@gmail.com
Service
Vice President:
The Community Service Vice President finds, organizes, and
implements multiple service projects each quarter for Prytanean.
For each event, she should send reminder emails, organize
carpools, and confirm events with project sponsors. Each Winter
and Spring, the Service VP is responsible for organizing the
Prytanean Relay for Life team. Additionally, she plays a role
in getting sponsors for the Charity Ball. Furthermore, she
must also keep track of everyones community service
hours in the Green Binder and should calculate and assign
penalty hours each quarter. The Service Vice President is
responsible for applying for the Human Corps and ASUCD awards
in the winter and spring quarters as well. For more info,
contact prytservicevp@gmail.com.
Social
Vice President:
The social vice president serves to facilitate social interaction
amongst Prytanean members and alumnae. This is accomplished
by planning various social events for members and alumnae
each quarter. She also plans the Senior Farewell at the end
of spring quarter which includes: planning and ordering the
menu, decorating, ordering plaques, certificates and flowers,
making a seating chart, and gathering senior profiles. Additionally
she is responsible for planning the winter retreat, this task
includes finding a location, picking a date, planning activities,
purchasing retreat items, etc. She also helps plan the Prytanean
Charity Ball during Fall Quarter. Fostering additional social
interaction among members is something that we would like
to work on as an organization. Therefore, if you are energetic,
creative, and would LOVE to find ways for Prytanean to become
a tighter knit group you would be great in this position!

Secretary:
The Secretary position fits a Prytanean who thrives on a flexible
schedule and who can manage independent work. Her duties include
maintaining records of all Prytaneans: from the roster to
membership status each quarter to committee participation,
and among other details. Thus, she gets to know all of the
members names really well, and often, she has personal
contact with individual Prytaneans. She also maintains the
Prytanean list serve, which helps to keep all Prytanean members
connected and updated on our current events. Through the list
serve, she sends out lots of information and, especially,
the minutes to every general meeting (this is in case some
members cannot make it the particular meeting). She works
closely with the other officers on membership and administrative
issues. But most importantly, being a Prytanean Secretary
allows her to be apart of the board of one of the most successful
organizations on campus! Most of the duties that the secretary
performs are done independently, using Microsoft Word and
Excel. The bulk of the work comes at the beginning and end
of every quarter, so time management and organization are
essential! This position is very flexible, which allows the
secretary to help out her fellow officers when they are planning
big events. For more info, contact prytsecretary@gmail.com.
Treasurer:
The treasurer manages both the on-campus and off-campus accounts.
She collects annual membership dues and money for other Prytanean
activities. Reimbursements are also distributed for official
Prytanean business. The treasurer applies for a Club Finance
Council grant for Prytanean's Honor Brochures with the help
of the Publicity Chair and also has the honor of organizing
the Dinner for 10 Strangers during winter quarter with the
Historian. She is responsible for keeping a detailed budget
and presenting it during officer meeting every quarter. For
more info, contact pryttreasurer@gmail.com
Historian:
General duties of the Society Historian include supervision
of the Society's scrapbook archives, and attending and photographing
Society activities for the purpose of keeping them up-to-date,
as well as updating and editing the Prytanean History, and
sharing that history publicly several times throughout her
term. Her specific duties include responsibility for the Picnic
Day float and/or parade during the Spring quarter; scheduling
the Group Photo and distributing purchased photos during Senior
Farewell; coordinating the annual Dinner for Ten Strangers
in conjunction with the Society Treasurer. For more info,
contact prythistorian@gmail.com.
Membership
Chair:
The defining characteristic of Membership Chair is that you're
the first one in contact with all the applicants. You interact
with them personally during the entire application process.
We now have some amazing women as part of the society and,
as Membership Chair, you really have a lot to do with that
success. Her main duties are to update the application, send
emails to potential applicants, plan the publicity of the
membership drive with the Publicity Chair, plan the Applicant
Refreshment Meeting, organize the week of interviews, and
plan the Initiation Ceremony (all using suggestions from the
previous membership drive questionnaire). It sounds like a
lot, yes, and the current Membership Chair would not lie...
it is tough work. But if you can manage your time (95% of
your work is during fall quarter) and have good organizational
skills, you've got what it takes! When fall quarter is over,
the main duty during winter is the membership drive questionnaires.
In spring, the responsibilities are to order the honor cords
for the graduating seniors and to plan Senior Farewell with
the Social Vice President. For more info, contact prytmembership@gmail.com.
Prytanean
Fundraiser:
The fundraiser is in charge of raising funds for Prytanean
and for other non-profit organizations to which we donate,
including SADVC (Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Center),
the Angelina Malfitano Memorial Fund, and Relay for Life.
The fundraiser organizes events such as fundraising dinners
at local restaurants (Woodstock's and Ben and Jerry's), Farmer's
Market bake sales, and car washes. Additionally, the fundraising
chair coordinates Prytanean activities on Picnic Day, in which
members have a booth at the Student Activities Faire to promote
Prytanean and raise funds by selling member-created princess
headbands copies of the "Windows of the Past" book.
The fundraiser serves as the liaison between the Mondavi Center
and Prytanean, contacting the concessions coordinator at Mondavi
about possible fundraising opportunities. The duties of the
fundraiser include organizing and overseeing all fundraising
events. She also coordinates with the Service Vice President
during Fall Quarter to seek sponsors for the Charity Ball.
She should be detail-oriented, flexible, responsible, organized,
and enthusiastic. For more info, email prytfundraiser@gmail.com.
Publicity
Chair:
Publicity chair is one of the most creative, interactive,
and flexible positions in Prytanean. The publicity officer
is in charge of designing flyers, banners, and other Prytanean
material for the membership selection process as well as Charity
Ball. She also oversees the updating and distribution of the
annual Honors Society Brochure. She creates any t-shirts or
clothing bearing the Prytanean logo. At some point in the
quarter, the publicity officer will work with every single
officer in the society, so excellent communication skills
are a must. Strong organizational skills and a creative, imaginative
mind are also important. For more info, email prytpublicity@gmail.com.
Website
Coordinator:
The Website Coordinator is a fun, flexible position that still
provides room for extra development. Current duties include
updating and maintaining the website and facebook site, and
creating slideshows for Senior Farewell during Spring Quarter,
Info Night and Applicant Refreshment during Fall Quarter,
and any other occasions that arise. Each quarter, she shall
update the website with current information, including meeting
times and location, pictures from the historian or other members,
as well as maintain a calendar with current community and
social activities. She shall contribute to member networking
by keeping an updated networking page with all Prytanean members'
information and encourage the use of the Prytanean Facebook
forum. For fall quarter, she shall upload any membership drive
information. She shall encourage the use of the Prytanean
website and publicize it both to current members and Alumnae.
The website is always a work in progress and new info and
new pages can always be added. Webmaster must also keep contact
with alumni to update the alum page. Previous web experience
and basic html programming is recommended along with creative
design skills and excellent time-management. For more info,
email prytwebmaster@gmail.com.
